Vita
Aoi Sawano was born in Japan. She received her ballet training at the Nashiki Ballet Studio in Tokyo before she came to the John Cranko School in Stuttgart in 2020 from which she graduated in 2022.
She successfully took part in several competitions. In 2017 she won the 1st. Prize at The National Dance Competition of Japan. In 2018 she also won the 1st prizes at the 18th competition of the All Japan Ballet Union as well as at the Japan Grand Prix. At the Japanese semi finals in 2018 she won the 2. Prize. At the Youth America Grand Prix finals in New York City she placed in the top 12 in 2018 and was a finalist in 2019.
During the 2022/23 season Aoi Sawano was an apprentice with the Stuttgart Ballet, in the following season she became a member of the Corps de ballet. At the beginning of the 2024/25 season she was promoted to Demi-Soloist.
