Marc Ribaud is Ballet Master with the Stuttgart Ballet since the beginning of the 2018/19 season. Before he was Artistic Director of the Ballet de l’Opéra de Nice (1997 to 2006) and of the Royal Swedish Ballet (2008 to 2011). As Ballet Master he has worked with various companies all around the world and is also a choreographer.

He received his ballet training at the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace de Monaco under the directorship of Marika Besobrasova. In 1986 he joined the Ballet company of the Bonn Opera in Germany (directorship Peter van Dyk). Later under Youri Vamos he became a Soloist. In 1991 he followed Vamos to the Basel Ballet where he also started to choreograph. Five years later Marc Ribaud followed Vamos again to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.

In 1997 Marc Ribaud became Artistic Director of the Ballet de l’Opéra de Nice for nine years. He created full length ballets such as Coppelia, Romeo and Juliet, La fille mal gardée, The Nutcracker, Carmen and Cinderella for his company. In 2007 he went to the Royal Swedish Ballet as Ballet Master, from 2008 to 2011 he was Artistic Director of the company.

As a freelance guest Ballet master and choreographer he has worked with numerous major dance companies and schools all around the world: a.o. Royal Swedish Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theater, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Ballet de l’Opéra du Rhin, Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse, Stuttgart Ballet, Czech National Ballet, Basel Ballet, Zürich Ballet, Grand Théâtre de Genève, West Australian Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Korean National Ballet, Liaoning Ballet Shenyang, Les Grands Ballet Canadiens, Istanbul State Operaand Ballet, Izmir State Opera and Ballet, Croatian National Ballet Split and Teatro San Carlo Napoli.

He also created choreographies for opera productions a.o. at the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Teatro Massimo Palermo, Teatro Regio di Torino, Opéra de Liège and Opéra de Marseille. He also ist he President of the Jury at the International Classical Ballet Competition in Grasse.

In September 2018 Marc Ribaud joined the Stuttgart Ballet as Ballet Master under the directorship of Tamas Detrich. Here he was in charge of ballets by George Balanchine, Edward Clug, John Cranko, Johan Inger, Jiřì Kylián, Kenneth MacMillan, Hans van Manen, Martin Schläpfer and John Neumeier.
